Common Home Repairs in the Palmetto State

South Carolina's subtropical climate means summers that are long, hot and intensely humid. Air conditioning systems here run heavily from spring through fall, accumulating wear at a rate that surprises many homeowners. Although most home warranty plans may not cover weather-related damages, it is important to note that weather plays a role in the systems and appliances you rely on in your home. Winters are mild in the Lowcountry but can turn cold in the Upstate, adding heating demands to the equation.

Plumbing is a consistent source of repair calls across South Carolina. High humidity and occasional temperature swings create conditions that age pipes and water heaters faster than the calendar alone would suggest. The coastal environment adds salt air to the mix, which can accelerate wear on mechanical systems. Appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines run year-round, and when they fail the cost tends to show up at the most inconvenient time.

Home warranty coverage in South Carolina: What your plan should include

Home warranty coverage in South Carolina should begin with cooling. Air conditioning is essential for a significant portion of the year, and compressor or coil failures are among the most expensive repair calls a homeowner can face. For homes in the Upstate, heating coverage is a meaningful complement.

Plumbing coverage is worth including given the effects of humidity and coastal air on pipes and fixtures. Electrical coverage adds further protection, especially in older homes throughout Charleston and Columbia where wiring may not have been updated in years. Appliance coverage provides practical value for the everyday machines your household depends on. Read plan terms before you commit — understand exclusions, know the service fees and check coverage caps. From the Lowcountry to the Blue Ridge foothills, South Carolina has much to offer — a well-chosen plan helps you enjoy it rather than worry about what might break down next.

I am very happy with Cinch. Submitting a claim with Cinch was straightforward; they sent someone out quickly. The service was much faster compared to other home warranties I've previously used. Their quick and efficient service stands out. My granddaughter submitted the claim online, and they called me soon after to set up an appointment. The tech arrived the next day, which was very convenient.
I haven't had many claims, but the one experience I had was handled swiftly and met my expectations. I rate my experience with Cinch as fabulous. Their customer service is excellent, as are the services they provide.

Cinch takes care of the customer when there's a problem. The person they decide to use follows up and texts you every step. They have good customer service and always present themselves well. Whenever you have a question, they're always there to answer it. Recently, my water heater was leaking. It couldn't be fixed so it had to be replaced. If I know somebody's looking for a home warranty, I always tell them about Cinch Home Services. They're wonderful. You don't have to go out there and look for anyone to fix anything for you ‘cause they got your back.

My experience when submitting a claim was very seamless and effortless. The tech who came knew what the issue was with the heater immediately and he ordered the fan motor. They had it the next morning and he came and put it in the next morning. It was during the winter when I didn't have heat because of it and they were really fast and on the ball.
